Tonight we are in a grand old forest standing on a platform which is positioned near the tree tops.  It is your turn first and the assistant checks your harness and connection to the zip-line that stretches beyond our line of sight disappearing into the dense dark canopy of leaves and limb.  You let out a shriek as he releases you and you glide at great speed down the line. We can see your legs as they dangle far above the brush covered ground.  The leafy branches nip at you as you ride and in a moment you’ve gone from view.  I follow and my stomach drops as I take the same trek you’ve just navigated.  I meet you on the next platform as I come to a stop.  We laugh so hard we struggle to breath the oxygen we need.  It isn’t long until we’re ripping down another zip-line.  We ride from perch to perch making our way to the forest’s base.  Like kids at an amusement park, we can’t wait to do it again and climb the long stairway many times that afternoon.  Finally our legs tire and we call it a day. We ride our ATVs out of the forest and back to our bungalow where we shower off the remnants of the day’s fun. Later the dinner we ordered is delivered to our room—a hearty portion of barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, roasted asparagus, and fresh baked peach cobbler.  We round out our evening rocking in chairs on the wrap-around porch as we watch the sun ease its way down over the tree laden horizon.
